Be careful in colder temperatures, the heating works with fixed current, it can get quite chilly when camping outdoors, but otherwise a great camper.

We had a camper for 6 people. 1 small chopping board, no salad bowl and only 1 sharp knife is far too little for 6 people. Out of 6 camping chairs, 2 were broken.

Apollo Euro Camper, Melbourne, written on a month ago

14 days on the east coast of Australia: The handover and briefing on the vehicle were very helpful. The return was quick and uncomplicated. Apart from a few signs of wear inside and out, the vehicle and the on-board technology worked without any problems. It could have been a little cleaner in some places.

We rented a campervan for 4 weeks and were very satisfied with the personal advice we received (Melbourne) and returned in Cairns. They had an open ear for our questions.

We had to have the house battery changed en route. This was well organised by the rental company. We also had to top up the AdBlue after a faulty display. But all in all, we had a great vehicle!

Everything was great. Only when we picked up the car in Melbourne, we were left to attach the child seat ourselves. No help or instruction from the staff was possible. Everything else worked well.

Very friendly service. They took a lot of time to explain the functions of the camper. The vehicle was in good condition and there were helpful tips on destinations and what to look out for, e.g. with regard to road tolls.

Hippie Hitop Camper, Melbourne, written on a year ago

The camper was really great for our trip because we had plenty of space, could cook in the camper if the weather didn't play ball and the bed was big. However, it was quite old and worn (dirty), one of the hobs didn't work properly and the posters on the bed were quite worn out. It didn't bother us too much, but if you expect something else for the price, you're in a bad position. In addition, the landlord requires an international driving licence (even with a German driving licence, which is in Latin script), which Camper days from Germany only writes in its small print. So we had quite a hardship on site and had to spend extra money to have the German driving licence translated, which we did not encounter with other providers (Bargain Car Rental for a "normal" rental car). It would have been nice if they had pointed this out again in the countless emails, just for customer service reasons. When we enquired, they were not very solution-orientated, which was a shame. In addition, the premium package (insurance, no deposit, camping equipment, etc.) probably didn't cover everything, as we had to pay a flat rate on site for each day for floor, roof and windscreen damage. This was also not included and could have been included directly in the premium package for an additional charge. All in all, we had a great time, but would have liked to have been taken in hand a little better and the price/performance ratio was also okay.

We got an upgrade to a Euro Mini instead of the Cheapa Hitop, which was really great! I would definitely recommend a vehicle with toilet & shower, we were very flexible with it.

  • Great Ocean Road

This is one of Australia’s most picturesque routes. It is around a 3 hour drive and it is roughly 250 km (155 miles). Along this route you will see fabulous beaches, forests and breathtaking sandstone cliff formations. You will start in Torquay, then head over to Lorne and Apollo Bay, before heading inland through the Otway National Park.

  • The Grampians

The perfect route for adventure seekers is just three hours away from Melbourne. On this route there are lots of places to stop off and go hiking.
