Very nice RV and we had a wonderfull trip. One global negative comment to improve the exeprience. I don't understand the poor level of service of such RV rental agencies. Rental is about 10 k$ and you don't feel as welcome as in some coffee shops. One of the guy was barely speaking english and was impossible to understand on the phone for a non native english speaker. Fridge was not on when we collected the vehicle. No camping chairs available. Pick up only available from the airport area knowing that you can't rent the day of your arrival from Europe. No storage for baggages. No manual of the vehicle available (so that you can understand and repair basic things if needed, like an electrical default on the stabilizing system).
Quick handover due to rain at the request of the landlord. Luggage could not be left there as discussed in advance. Since the handover (bad briefing) went so quickly, it was overlooked because everything was just in a pile that pillows were missing and the duvets were broken or the zips. All 4 chairs were rusty, had holes, bars bent and broken. USB plugs were loose, ladder not usable to get on the bed, ladder bracket defective, oil had to be bought after a short time (but was refunded) Motorhome was poorly cleaned. Seat cushions always slipped down after a few minutes, child could not sit well, doors and drawers kept opening, all very cheaply made. Water hose was too short for many locations, little storage space, the pots, coffee maker, pans, toaster were all in one compartment, an intermediate board would have helped.gebause with the bowls . I wouldn't book Roadbear again for the higher price. Then I can go back to Cruise America, where I know that the vehicles are older. On the plus side, the ice compartment was great. The holiday was a dream, although this was not due to the motorhome. Staff in Denver okay but not really friendly or helpful especially if you have a baby with you. We were told to be there at 0930 for the shuttle bus, but it didn't arrive until 11. Denver was a mass processing centre.

Our day was as good as over it was 4pm when we could leave. Driver's seat is only slightly adjustable to the back but in height not adjustable at all so very bad sitting position to drive much .In the camper a lot of noise while driving , a real rattle. Engine and power were OK , drinks a lot but that is normal by American standards.Nice is when you are at camping you can connect waste water and toilet directly and your supply of water also no hassle with cassette cleaning.

Maintenance of the vehicles is really bad. Somehow it's also a design fault in the car because the toilet always stinks.

We were given a really old and faulty vehicle. The entire propane system failed, so we had no cooker, fridge or heating! The service and support from Cruise America was below average. It took over 1 week and many phone calls until we got a new vehicle! This was then ok and we were refunded a small amount. It was still very annoying! Camper Days also supported us from a distance. Nevertheless, overall not a good experience to recommend. But maybe we were just unlucky? The fuel consumption of these vehicles should not be underestimated! 30 litres/100 km are quickly gone! With the current petrol prices in the USA and the fuel consumption, you can expect to pay around 30-40$/100 miles.

We were very disappointed with Bruce America and the vehicle. The pick up was a 2 hour wait and took just 5 minutes at the vehicle. The vehicle was very dirty, the rear compartment was not watertight, the black board display was defective and always showed full, the bed could not be set up properly and overall the condition of the vehicle was very poor. It already had 280,000 kilometres on the clock and looked accordingly..... The kitchen equipment was also absolutely inadequate. All in all, classes below the competition Road Bear... Never again Cruise America!!!

Basically everything good Everything worked

The vehicle was in very good condition - the linen provided was not very clean, however - unfortunately we had to wait 2 hours for the pick-up procedure - several times the fridge went out and we called the helpline, which was of no help either with the fridge or the generator ...... We had doubts about the fact that the RV had to be level for it to work properly, but in this case it would be useful to indicate this to the pick-up or to write it in the manual and to provide a level in the RV and perhaps shims.

Top tips for your Campervan trip to Denver
The best time to rent a campervan in Denver is between April and October. This is when the weather is nice and warm, and the roads through the mountains will have less snow. Visiting in the winter is possible, but some roads might be closed.
- Driving
One thing to note is that if you are driving high up in the mountains, there's a good chance it will affect the performance of your campervan due to the lack of air. Take your time on the steep climb and descents, and watch out for wildlife running across the road.
- Family Friendly Activities
Even though most of your trip will be spent outside of the city, there are some family-friendly activities worth visiting to keep the little ones entertained. Denver Zoo is one of the best, with over 4000 animals. The Downtown Aquarium is another option that is highly rated.
- The Outdoors
If we had to highlight a few, you must head to the Rockies National Park (just 90 minutes away). Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre are great places for photos because of their natural red sandstone formations. Theres also the Great Sand Dunes National Park is 4 hours away with fantastic towering dunes.
Campervan offers for couples in Denver
For a romantic trip for two exploring Denver and other cities nearby, a smaller motorhome is just right. Discover our selection of vehicles for two people and explore together.
Campervan offers for families in Denver
If you want to go on a family camping holiday in Denver, we recommend a large motorhome. Alcove models are very popular with families with children, as the motorhomes are spacious and have several sleeping and seating areas.
Best Campervan routes from Denver
Denver to Moab (Utah)
If you’re considering motorhome rental in Denver, this 550km route might suit you. Head west from Denver, and this route will take you through Colorado’s high country before dropping back down in the deserts of Utah. You could stop at Glenwood Springs, the world's largest outdoor mineral pool and impressive waterfalls. After that, there is Rim Rock Drive, which campervan travellers consistently praise. Once in Moab, you can stock up on supplies, enjoy the town and maybe visit some of the natural parks nearby.
Denver to Santa Fe, New Mexico
Start by stopping at the Great Sand Dunes National Park, where you can try sandboarding or sledging down its slopes, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It feels like you are on an alien planet. After that, stop at Toas, a place full of culture where you can sample some New Mexico cuisine. Once in Santa Fe, you can park up, relax and take in the mix of cultures. If you’re planning a motorhome for hire in Denver, this route offers plenty of scenic stops and campervan-friendly campsites.
Denver to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
As far as national parks go, this one is quiet, with uncrowded hiking trails. Head west out of Denver on the I-70, calling at mountain towns like Beuna Vita and Frisco to grab supplies and stretch your legs. Stay the night at Montrose, which is known as the gateway to the Black Canyon. This road trip is perfect for those after some peace and solitude in areas that are not as busy as other national parks.
Sites of interest and excursions in Denver
Golden, Colorado
Have you ever tried Coors beer? Golden is home to the brewery, and you can tour and sample the beer at the world's largest single-site brewery. After (or before), you could walk or cycle along Clear Creek Trail, which runs through the town centre. If history is your thing, they also have the Colorado Railroad Museum.
Dinosaur Ridge
Just 28km outside of Denver is Dinosaur Ridge. It's a fantastic outdoor museum where you can look at some real-life dinosaur tracks and fossils embedded within rock formations. You don’t get to see this every day, so it's worth checking out while you are in the area. There's a route you can take, a visitor centre, and interactive exhibits that children will love.
Lookout Mountain
Lookout Mountain is 25km from Denver. It’s a very popular scenic drive in the area that offers excellent views of the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains. It's easy to drive up in a campervan, and at the summit, you will find the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave, one of the most famous people in the American West. Take a picnic up, chill out, and enjoy the views.

Yes, you are allowed to wild camp. It is known as boondocking and is permitted on public lands, such as national forests and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) areas.
The weather in Colorado can change quickly. We recommend packing layers, including warm clothes, as there can be a sudden drop in temperature even in the summer.
During the winter, a lot of them close. This is due to the snow and them not being accessible. Research where you think you will be staying before you book.
